Participants who would like to improve their general French skills or learn the French language from scratch is best served by enrolling in standard French or intensive French courses.
The Standard French courses consist of 20 lessons (45 minutes each) per week. The curriculum focuses on developing grammar skills, expanding vocabulary, improving written expression and practising the literary language. Classes are held from Monday to Friday between 9 am and 11 am – 12.20 pm. In summer, the comparatively high number of students may make it necessary for lessons to be scheduled in the afternoons.
If you would like to achieve the greatest possible study progress on your language journey to France, we recommend the Intensive French course with a total of 30 weekly lessons. In addition to the standard language course in the morning (that can also be scheduled for late afternoons from 4 pm to 7.15 pm in the summer), you will have 10 lessons from 1.15 pm to 3.45 pm on 3 afternoons per week. These afternoon classes will put an emphasis on the practical application of your language skills. France’s cultural, social and economic life will also be examined. Depending on your ability level, surveys, conferences, literature, history, theatre, music and more will be part of the curriculum.
Standard French courses are offered for all ability levels, from beginner to advanced, but intensive courses require basic French skills. The lessons are held in small groups with an average of 5-8 and a maximum of 10 participants; this allows the teacher to cater to each student’s individual needs. If you’d like to increase the intensity of your language course or address specific topics in more detail, you can combine regular group courses with additional private lessons (combination courses). Topics like business French, law, tourism, the hotel business or exam preparation can be covered in five or ten private coaching lessons per week. Please inform us about your specific interests; the language school will then prepare your course accordingly!
