General English courses in New York are great for acquiring or refining your all-round English skills. The courses include training in grammar, vocabulary, listening comprehension, and conversation. You will learn how English is used in every-day situations and you will train your pronunciation and learn English idioms and common expressions. You will be taught by several different trainers on your language journey to New York which allows you to familiarise yourself with different accents and to considerably expand your vocabulary.
Two different course types are available depending on how intensively you wish to learn: standard English courses or intensive courses.
Standard English Courses take place in the mornings between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. They consist of 20 lessons a week (50 minutes each).
The Intensive English Courses are an alternative that enables you to train more intensively and allow for greater progress in a shorter space of time. You spend 28 lessons a week (50 minutes each) in the classroom and in order to increase your focus, classes are held both in the morning and in the afternoon between 9:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
General English courses are offered for all ability levels (beginner to advanced). The class size in New York is capped at 12 participants, the average being 8 to 10 students per class. New students can begin a language course every Monday and the minimum duration of a general English course is one week.
