The IELTS exam is for all participants from intermediate upwards. This is an alternative for participants who need an official English qualification and for those who need an English qualification for admission to a university. The tests take place three times a year and the applications must be made at least eight weeks before the examination date.
The IELTS exam tests the entire range of English language skills that the participants encounter when they study the English language. The course focuses on both listening comprehension and written text. In the test itself, you can choose between an academic or a general focus in the reading and writing sections of the test. The academic emphasis is suitable for candidates who want to go on to study. The general emphasis is suitable for those participants who are looking for non-academic training or to take the exam to go on to gain work experience or for immigration reasons.
The IELTS Preparation course consists of 12 45-minute lessons per week and takes place each afternoon from Monday to Thursday from 13:45 to 16:30. To get the best possible result, it is best to take this course together with our Standard English Course (20 lessons per week).
