Living and learning the English language is a unique experience. Participants can achieve many different goals in the Academic Year program. The chance to become fluent in English, the challenges of expanding your vocabulary, and forming close friendships are only a few factors involved in a longer stay in Vancouver.
This exciting program is available for a minimum period of 24 weeks. It is ideal for anyone seriously interested in learning the language and staying for a longer time and is available to participants at any level from beginner to advanced. You can choose between either 20 or 30 lessons per week, each lesson lasting 45 minutes. The group size is a maximum of 15 students.
On the first day, there is a placement test to assess your level of English to be able to place you in a group with participants with the same language level. Short tests are given regularly in order to monitor your progress. So that you get the most out of your stay, you are given homework, the opportunity for self-study, and the continuous support of the teachers and other staff. As well as the group classes there are feedback sessions with a personal supervisor and additional question and answer sessions.
A great bonus in the Academic Year program is that participants have the opportunity to take the Cambridge, IELTS, or TOEFL tests.
Students on the Academic Year program with 20 lessons per week will receive a certificate of participation at the end of their course. The school will issue a diploma to those participants who were on a course with 30 lessons per week. The school will also give students support and advice about studying at a North American university if they request it.
