A longer stay in Toronto enables participants to improve their English and get to know the culture. You will be able to expand your vocabulary and every day your English will become more fluent. You can achieve your own goals, such as making new friends, at the same time as integrating into the new culture. Living in another country is a unique and formative experience.
The academic year is available to all participants for a minimum period of 24 weeks. Your level of English is not important and you can book at any level from beginner to advanced. The courses take place in a maximum class size of 15 students and you can choose between 20 or 30 lessons per week. One lesson consists of 45 minutes.
There is a placement test on the first day and the results of the test are used to help place the students in groups with participants of the same level. In order to monitor the progress of the students, there are also regular short language tests. The participants are supported throughout the course by the teachers and young leaders and this along with the homework tasks and self-study will provide a great learning experience. All your questions and comments can be dealt with in additional individual sessions with a personal tutor.
This program will help you to develop your knowledge and use of general English. The Intensive Course consists of 30 lessons per week, of 45 minutes each, in the mornings as part of the Standard class group and in the afternoons you can select from a number of options. These options include academic techniques, writing, grammar in everyday life, film, media, and much more.
The students also have the opportunity to take the exams required by employers or universities including IELTS, TOEFL, or Cambridge exams.
Participants on the 20-lesson Academic Year program will receive a certificate at the end of the course. The participants on the 30-lesson Academic Year program will receive a special diploma issued by the language school. The language school in Vancouver will offer advice and happily support participants on the Academic Year program who are preparing for studies at a North American university.
